Fans have some interesting respones to The Batman star Robert Pattinson’s new look for his upcoming Netflix movie The King.

Furure Batman actor Robert Pattinson is set to co-star alongside Timothée Chalamet in The King, an adaptation of three of William Shakespeare’s plays — Henry IV Part OneHenry IV Part Two, and Henry V. In the movie, Robert Pattinson portrays an antagonist known as the Dauphin of Viennois, who has much longer hair than people are accustomed to seeing the Twilight alum with.

Naturally, this led to some… interesting responses on the Twittersphere. We’ve gathered some of the best ones below:

Suffice to say, this is going to be a much different look for Robert Pattinson than the one that he will have when we see his version of Bruce Wayne and the Batman in a few years. Details for the Robert Pattinson-led Batman project are being kept under lock and key. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the film as his current Batman while the film introduced a younger version of the Caped Crusader. But with Ben Affleck officially retired from the role, Robert Pattinson is replacing the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League star as Batman.

We know that The Batman will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and The Penguin. Director Matt Reeves has also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s acclaimed Year One comic and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Robert Pattinson, Batman and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
