Robert Pattinson weighed in the nicknames he’s been given ever since he was officially cast as Batman.
Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson was officially cast as the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film The Batman. As to expect, the internet immediately created clever nicknames for Robert Pattinson’s incarnation of Batman, with the two most popular being “Battinson” and “R-Batz.”
While promoting his film The Lighthouse at the Toronto International Film Festival, Robert Pattinson was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight and asked to pick between the two aforementioned Batman nicknames. However, Robert Pattinson explained that he is trying to avoid taking on the Batman nicknames the internet has bestowed upon him:
“Oh god. I don’t know … I’m trying to avoid… avoiding nicknames.”
Which of these nicknames do you prefer for Robert Pattinson’s Batman? Or are you with Robert Pattinson in refraining from using Batman nicknames for his take on the Dark Knight? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and the Penguin. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
