Matt Reeves is set to offer fans a fresh take on Bruce Wayne with The Batman, a new film starring Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. With details on the project are slim for the time being, fans are curious to see which characters will join Robert Pattinson’s Batman and many are hoping to see Robin in the film.

Some fans have suggested Shameless star Ethan Cutkosky for the role of Robin and digital artist William Gray has created a fan-made photo that offers a hint at what the actor could look like as the Boy Wonder next to Robert Pattinson’s Batman. Do you think Ethan Cutkosky would be a good choice for the role of Robin? Does Robert Pattinson even need a Robin? Do you think Batman is better off without a sidekick? Sound-off your thoughts in the comments section!

Details for the Robert Pattinson-led Batman project are being kept under lock and key. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the film as his current Batman while the film introduced Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader in his earlier years. But with Ben Affleck officially retired from the role, Robert Pattinson is replacing the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League actor as Batman.

We know that The Batman will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and The Penguin. Director Matt Reeves has also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy with Robert Pattinson.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.

The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Robert Pattinson and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
