Is The Batman going to defy all expectations! Robert Pattinson teases that the sequel will evolve past the already legendary first installment of the saga.
Robert Pattinson has been a busy bee this past year, working on major projects such as Dune Part 3 and The Drama. As such, the star hasn’t spoken much on The Batman ever since the sequel began pre-production. And given he’s by far the most vocal and public of the cast members, this has left fans high and dry when it comes to teases about the sequel.
Luckily, when speaking to Deadline during the red carpet for The Drama, Robert Pattinson gave fans a little tease about what they can expect from The Batman sequel. While the star doesn’t give anything too concrete away, he does tease that the script diverges from what many fans might expect, yet still ends up as a truly elevated piece of fiction.
“The script is extraordinary. I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different. It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings.”
The Batman Makes Some Changes
Given how little fans officially know about The Batman Part II, it’s hard to speculate on exactly what Robert Pattinson means when he teases “big swings”. However, given the film seems to be a semi-adaptation of The Long Halloween, it’s likely that the project will focus on the larger scope of Gotham rather than just the underbelly of the elite – as was shown in the first film.
Then again, it’s possible that Robert Pattinson is teasing a whole new direction when it comes to tone for the sequel. The Batman largely focused on the hero’s detective work. And while that is a core aspect of The Long Halloween, it’s possible that this take on the character leans more into him being a crime stopping vigilante.
The Batman sequel is currently set to release October 1, 2027. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe!
