The screenplay for Matt Reeves’ The Batman starring Robert Pattinson will have a hardcover release.

Matt Reeves’ DC Comics film The Batman remains as one of the most acclaimed blockbusters of 2022 so far. The film, which stars Robert Pattinson as the titular Caped Crusader in his second year of fighting crime in Gotham City has been praised for numerous elements, one of which includes the screenplay by Reeves and co-writer Peter Craig. The script is more of an old school detective story, one that has rarely been showcased in a film starring the Dark Knight in such a massive way.

Well, the official screenplay for the Robert Pattinson film is set to be released in a special hardcover edition later this year. In October 4, 2022, The Batman: The Official Script Book will be available to own.

Amazon’s official description for this upcoming hardcover release of Matt Reeves and Peter Craig’s screenplay for The Batman reads as follows:

“Experience The Batman in an all-new way, with this deluxe version of the film’s thrilling script. Follow the Caped Crusader early in his career as he faces off against sinister serial killer The Riddler and reckons with the sins of the Wayne family’s past. Featuring film stills that add visual depth to the story, The Batman: The Official Script Book is an immersive tribute to the Dark Knight’s journey from the page to the screen.”

One of the best comic book movie screenplays in years.

Part of what made The Batman such a refreshing piece of comic book cinema is in how Matt Reeves and Peter Craig’s script really immersed viewers into Gotham City through its brilliant dialogue and world-building. The dialogue evokes the tone from iconic noir detective stories seen in past cinema like Chinatown, while also implementing the years of world-building exhibited from the lore of the comic books.

Here is the synopsis for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman:

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.

When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin and Barry Keoghan as The Joker.

The film is now streaming exclusively on HBO Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding The Batman’s on-screen future, Robert Pattinson, and more, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
