Rumor: Rocksteady’s Next Game Is ‘Batman: Arkham Crisis’

We are igniting the Bat-signal for this next story because there exists a slim possibility that the next project from Rocksteady Studios, the studio behind the beloved video games Batman: Arkham Asylum as well as Arkham City and Arkham Knight, is another installment in the series called Batman: Arkham Crisis.

This rumor comes to us from PlayStationLifeStyle.net who recently reported on leaked information from an anonymous source who claims to be a play tester for the supposed upcoming game. As the they themselves point out, much of the information revolving around the new Batman game is very specific and likely seems too good to be true. So take what you are about the read with a Bat Mite-sized grain of salt.

According to the play tester, Arkham Crisis has been in development at Rocksteady Studios for two years and features a much more complex narrative than any of the three previous Arkham games, with a 12 act structure that lasts about one hour each. This time around, players will have access the the Batwing rather than the Batmobile, which is to be implemented during story missions as well as can be accessed for transportaion around a map that is rumored to be larger than GTA V‘s. Additionally, the side missions have supposedly been improved and expanded upon, lasting longer than those found in the previous games.

There are other rumored details as well. Supposedly Rocksteady is aiming for a legitimate Game of the Year contender with a rumored release window of October 2019. The play tester, the game will also include a day/night cycle as well as special co-op mode where you can play certain side missions along with a friend.

Again, this is all just gossip at this point and could easily be just some attention-starved fanatic’s way of stiring the pot. Still, Rocksteady has been quiet as a mouse since their last Batman game, except to debunk the long rumored Superman game.
