Fans won’t have to wait until Avengers: Doomsday to see Star-Lord! A rumor suggests that Chris Pratt is set to return in another MCU project before the crossover film.
When fans saw the words ‘Star-Lord Will Return’ at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it was all-but set in stone that Chris Pratt would appear as the character in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars duology. However, given how disconnected the hero is from the rest of the MCU’s cast, it isn’t exactly clear what will draw him in to the conflict.
Details on this Gordian knot finally came out in a recent rumor from graphic designer James Mack. In a social media post, the user seemed to reveal that Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord in the VisionQuest series prior to his arrival in Avengers: Doomsday. Though it is important to note that, while Mack has posted quite a few rumors about the MCU in recent months, most of them have yet to be proven true, with reports such as his details for Thor’s costume seemingly being wrong.

Star-Lord’s Future In The MCU
This rumor is also interesting since it seems to line-up with viral Avengers: Doomsday concept art showing Star-Lord as Vision’s roommate. While this could explain what role Chris Pratt could possibly play in VisionQuest, it’s important to note that the concept art was confirmed as being fake from the Russo Brothers, and hasn’t lined up with any other reports fans have gotten about the film since.
So while it’s certainly possible that Chris Pratt makes his return in VisionQuest, fans shouldn’t count their chickens. It’s likely that trailers for both the Vision series and Avengers: Doomsday premiere at the Super Bowl this year. And, given how big of a name Star-Lord is in the MCU, this rumor will likely be proven one way or another then.
