RUMOR: ‘Quantumania’ Writer Jeff Loveness Dropped From ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’

Is Jeff Loveness out?

Avengers The Kang Dynasty

Is Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness officially canned? Marvel may be changing their plan for Avengers: Kang Dynasty.

Earlier this year it was confirmed Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania scribe Jeff Loveness would write Avengers: Kang Dynasty. However, many speculated Loveness would be booted from the project following Quantumania flopping. It seems this may have come to pass, with Joanna Robinson confirming his ousting to the House of R podcast.

“I heard from someone recently…the screenwriter Jeff Loveness, who wrote Quantumania, was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty…anyway, it’s confirmed. I had it confirmed to me he’s no longer working for Marvel,” Robinson reveals. “I asked the person why, and they said the reason why is he was all wrapped up in this Kang storyline and they are likely going to be moving away from that.”

While Joanna Robinson certainly has some reliability due to being the author of MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, this should be taken with a grain of salt. Not only is Kang one of the easiest characters to recast, but it was recently confirmed Loki writer Michael Waldron would help pen Avengers: Kang Dynasty due to his involvement with Kang’s storyline. So it’s entirely possible Quantumania didn’t ruin Jess Loveness’ chances of writing for the franchise.

The future of the Avengers franchise

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is the first movie in a two-part finale to Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, rounding out Marvel Studios’ Phase 6. Both films are scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2025.

Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, with Jeff Loveness attached to write. Michael Waldron will write Avengers: Secret Wars, though there is no director attached to the project.

Secret Wars is a crossover event that will bring together characters from all across the Marvel multiverse, so Iron Man’s experience and leadership will be invaluable to the Avengers. Michael Waldron is set to write the upcoming Marvel Studios film Avengers: Secret Wars, but a director has yet to be announced.
