Not only is Ryan Coogler coming off a generational accomplishment with Sinners, but acting legend Denzel Washington has already signed on to join the film in an undisclosed role.
However, Black Panther 3 is suffering the same fate as many of Marvel’s heroes in recent years. Namely, that there’s so many character vying for the spotlight that getting any progress other than a greenlight on a sequel feels like pulling teeth. Needless too say, there hasn’t exactly been a major update about the film from Ryan Coogler or the studio in quite some time.
When Is Black Panther 3 Coming Out?
Yet after months upon months of waiting, Black Panther 3 finally has an update. Ryan Coogler recently spoke at Deadline’s Contenders Film event in Los Angeles. While there, the director admitted that he plans to return to Marvel Studios sooner rather than later, with the sequel currently being the next film on his docket.
“If it were anyone but you, I would say I could neither confirm or deny. But we’re working on it, we’re working on it hard…It’s the next movie.”
It’s exciting to hear that Ryan Coogler and Marvel Studios are finally reuniting to get some work done on Black Panther 3. However, given how ambitious the past installments in the franchise have been, it’s likely that the sequel won’t be coming down the pipeline anytime soon. So fans should expect to wait a few more months, potentially a year, before any formal plans are announced.
