La resistance lives on in Deadpool and Wolverine! Ryan Reynolds has shared a cryptic Avengers-themed Instagram post ahead of the release of the Marvel Studios movie.
It’s no secret that Deadpool and Wolverine is going to take place in a desolate wasteland, more likely than not ruled over by the film’s villain, Cassandra Nova. However, it seems new heroes are rising up, with Ryan Reynolds teasing a resistance movement with a defiled Avengers flag.

Even if it’s not against Cassandra Nova, it’s clear someone is leading a resistance against someone in Deadpool and Wolverine. Since it’s not likely to actually be the Avengers, Ryan Reynolds probably used this photo to tease that the resistance will be coming in the form of a brand-new team that has been rumored for months.
Deadpool And Wolverine’s Resistance Team
Rumors of a team of freedom fighters formed to take a stand against Cassandra Nova stem back to this past April when scooper MyTimeToShineHello revealed it would be comprised of Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Dafne Keen’s X-23, and Channing Tatum’s Gambit. However, the newest version of this rumor from The Geeky Cast adds Chris Evans’ Human Torch and Wesley Snipes’ Blade to the Deadpool and Wolverine super team.
Given the notorious bad blood between Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes, it’s not likely he’ll be in Deadpool and Wolverine at all, let alone as a member of an elite super team against Cassandra Nova. So while it’s likely the prior rumor is closer to the truth, the full roster of the movement likely won’t be known until the film hits theaters next month.
