Ryan Reynolds joked about why Deadpool 3 is taking so long by celebrating the day test footage for the first film was leaked.

It’s well known that Deadpool probably wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for the test footage that leaked back in 2014. To this day, it remains a mystery as to who leaked the footage. Some have speculated that it was Ryan Reynolds while others think it was director Tim Miller. Either way, the Deadpool franchise has been a very successful one for 20th Century Fox.

The Deadpool franchise is in limbo at the moment since the movie rights reverted back to Marvel Studios with the Disney-Fox merger. While Ryan Reynolds has teased that the franchise will continue at Marvel Studios, creator Rob Liefeld recently claimed that another Deadpool movie might not happen. On Twitter, Reynolds joked about the lack of Deadpool 3 news by celebrating the anniversary of when the test footage for the first film leaked online with a hilarious video.
