Marvel has released a brand new trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine, showing Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting any new footage from Deadpool and Wolverine ever since the first trailer dropped earlier this year. While the first sneak peek mostly focused on the journey of Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in getting his groove back, this newest batch of goodies puts Hugh Jackman front and center for his return as Wolverine, this time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
From bar scene callbacks to references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this newest trailer is everything fans could have wanted as the release date for Deadpool and Wolverine fast approaches. It’s clear Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are back at the top of their game, with new footage that’ll make even the most jaded fan of superhero media raise an eyebrow. The full trailer can be seen below.
A Whole New Wolverine
Many fans assumed that Hugh Jackman would be playing the same Wolverine they kno and love in this new movie. However, the trailer reveals that Ryan Reynolds still has a few tricks up his sleeve for Deadpool and Wolverine. While the character will still be similar to previous incarnations that Jackman has played, the film seems to be taking a page from the MCU in making him a variant.
According to the trailer, the Wolverine that Deadpool will work with throughout the film will be one who fails to save his world from an unseen threat, presumably the film’s main antagonist, Cassandra Nova. This cheeky twist allows Ryan Reynolds to keep his promise of bringing back such an iconic hero without erasing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine send-off in Logan. Hopefully, there’ll be more than enough nods to Jackman’s tenure as the character to make up for the return!
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expected to be released on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
