Is joining the cast of the MCU a bigger curse than it is a gift? Sadie Sink reveals some of the weirdest parts of joining Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
With Stranger Things finally finishing up its near decade-long run, much of the cast already has their eyes set on new projects. Perhaps the most prominent out of all of them is Sadie Sink, who joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day last year. While this has been one of the most talked about aspects of the film, very little is known about who she’ll actually play in the MCU.
This mystery is, apparently, one of the big downsides of taking the job. When speaking about joining the MCU in a recent chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Sadie Sink remarks that everyday she sees a new rumor about who she might be playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It seems all that speculation about who she’s been cast as is a genuine hardship for the actress.
“It’s torture. There’s so much speculation,” Sink explains in a recently posted clip. “I feel like there’s a new character every week.”
Sadie Sink’s Revelation About Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Yet it seems not all of the speculation is pure smoke and mirrors. Continuing on, Sadie Sink remarks that the internet does know quite a bit about Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In fact, it turns out that she found out she was being eyed to appear in the film a few days BEFORE being officially cast in the MCU’s upcoming project.
I tell people. The people I know. I found out through online theories. Before I got cast, there was speculation online that said, ‘Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man.'”
“I was like, ‘I am?’ Sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it. Those theories, there’s sometimes some truth to [them].”
Given how prevalent leak culture has become around the MCU and superhero media, it’s not shocking that one of these days an actor would find out they’re joining a movie before officially signing the deal. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day the next project on Marvel’s docket, it’s not likely to be long until fans discover who Sadie Sink has ACTUALLY been cast as.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31st, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future!
