A crew member on Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has revealed the comic book they were given as a wrap gift by director Sam Raimi and it features the sorceress Clea.

Clea is a character appearing alongside Doctor Strange in Marvel’s comic universe. She is a sorceress, trained in the ways of magic by Doctor Strange, with whom she has also been romantically involved. The character also has ties to Dormammu, who was her uncle in the comics, and she has at times ruled the Dark Dimension. Rumors have been circulating for a while that Clea may appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Given the film’s huge scope and multiverse-spanning storyline, almost any Marvel character seems to have a claim to appear in some form or another. However, Clea is one with direct links to Doctor Strange himself.

Mark Wagner, a member of the stunt crew on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has lent more credibility to the rumors surrounding Clea’s potential MCU debut in the movie with a recent Instagram post. Wagner shared an image of the wrap gift he received from the film’s director, Sam Raimi – a copy of Doctor Strange (1974) #48, an issue that features Clea both in its story and on the cover. Wagner specifically referred to the comic as part of the director’s “reference materials,” possibly signalling Clea’s storyline in this issue has influenced her appearance in the film. Check out the post below:

While this is far from official confirmation of Clea’s appearance in the Doctor Strange sequel, it gives further weight to the existing rumors. Many fans will surely hope that Clea is on the way.

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film:
