Marvel Studios has released a new featurette for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which centers on director Sam Raimi.
When Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Scott Derrickson was attached, and the film’s horror elements were teased. Derrickson then departed the project over “creative differences,” with Spider-Man director Sam Raimi taking over.
Sam Raimi had always talked about his love for Doctor Strange, even when he was helming the Spider-Man films, and got his chance to bring his take with the upcoming sequel. Of course, Raimi is also known for his horror work, and it sounds like Multiverse of Madness was the perfect fit. The sequel also marks Raimi’s first film since 2013’s Oz the Great and Powerful.
The horror elements have remained a constant for Multiverse of Madness with Sam Raimi at the helm, and a recent featurette explores what the superhero movie veteran is bringing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can watch the featurette below.
