‘Iron Man 2’ Star Sam Rockwell Down To Return As Justin Hammer

Iron Man 2 Justin Hammer Sam Rockwell

Iron Man 2 is nobody’s favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but it does have some truly great stuff in it, like Sam Rockwell’s charismatic Justin Hammer.

Largely being considered one of the worst movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Jon Favreaudirected Iron Man 2 doesn’t have a whole lot going for it. One of the film’s saving graces is one of the most underrated and largely forgotten villains of the MCU. Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer is seriously some comedy gold and it would be a shame to never see or hear from the character again. Justin Hammer last appeared in a Marvel One-Shot taking place after Iron Man 3, showing Sam Rockwell’s character interacting with Mandarin actor Trevor Slattery in prison.

Recently on Reddit, Sam Rockwell was asked if he’d be down to reprise his role as Justin Hammer in the future. In his response, Rockwell revealed that he’s just “waiting on the Avengers” to give him a call.

Perhaps, we could see Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer appear in the upcoming  Avengers: Endgame. Seeing as Captain America: The First Avenger villain Red Skull appeared in last years Avengers: Infinity War, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. The Avengers could use all the help they can get, even if it is a knock off of Tony Stark that’s currently in prison. That is if Justin Hammer wasn’t turned to dust after the Decimation.
