Set photos from Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion tease the return of Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury.

One of the most iconic comic book characters is back. After serving as a supporting character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade, Samuel L Jackson is set to spearhead Secret Invasion as Nick Fury. Based on the iconic comic run of the same name, the Disney Plus series will see humans navigating growing tensions as Skrulls invade all aspects of humanity. It remains to be seen who is a Skrull but one thing is for certain: no one is safe from their wrath.

Production on Secret Invasion is currently underway, with set photos trickling in from all corners of the internet. Most recently fans were treated with a glimpse at Emilia Clarke’s mysterious character. Now, a new batch of photos tease the return of Nick Fury and it looks like the former SHIELD head has seen better days.

In the set photos, Nick Fury can be seen without his eye patch, though it is possible that Samuel L Jackson simply wasn’t wearing it between takes. The other striking change to Nick Fury’s look is the beard. Fury notably used to rock goatees but this is the first time the operative has let his facial hair grow out.
