A brand new set photo from Samuel L Jackson’s Secret Invasion series teases an iconic Russian location.
Filming on Samuel L Jackson’s Secret Invasion series is underway. The series has been rolling cameras since September and has added numerous cast members along the way, including Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill. While exact details are slim on the upcoming Disney Plus series, one can expect tons of plot twists and Skrull reveals just like in the comics.
With production currently underway, the Atlanta Filming account on Instagram revealed one of the Marvel series’ major set pieces. It turns out that the Samuel L Jackson-led show has recreated Moscow’s iconic Red Square, which is located within the Kremlin’s walls.
It’s likely that a major action sequence will take place within the Red Square. It’s an interesting choice for a set-piece and possibly indicates that the series will focus on real-world politics as much as it does interstellar. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Skrulls take on the roles of Russian politicians, which could lead to contention with the American government. Of course, that’s only speculation, and only time will tell just how the Moscow-based set influences Secret Invasion.

Here is the synopsis for Moon Knight, Marvel’s next series:
“A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.”
Written by Jeremy Slater the series stars Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow. The series was directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige serving as an Executive Producer.
