A new Comic-Con teaser for the upcoming DC film, Shazam! Fury of the Gods has been released.

In 2019, Shazam! was released in theaters to critical praise and moderate box office success. While it didn’t achieve the box office reception that Aquaman enjoyed, it was profitable enough for Warner Bros to quickly put a sequel in development. Despite the film set to be released later this year, very little of the upcoming film has been revealed.

The Film Heads To Comic-Con

Earlier this year, footage for Shazam!: Fury of the Gods debuted at CinemaCon. It was not released to the public but it was full of Fast and Furious jokes and a dream where Billy Batson dated Wonder Woman. Like Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, the upcoming film is set to make some kind of appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Earlier today an official teaser for the film’s upcoming appearance at the convention.

You can see the full teaser below:

Here is the synopsis for the first Shazam! film:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a script written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Ross Butler, Jovan Armand, D.J. Cotrona, Marta Millans, and Cooper Andrews.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods opens on December 21, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
