Scarlett Johansson opened her latest Saturday Night Live appearance with a monologue homaging Avengers: Endgame.
Having hosted SNL five times prior to last night, Scarlett Johansson tried something a little different for her latest appearance. Initially, it appears as though she starts of a standard comedic monologue, but suddenly some of the show’s players start turning into dust, as several characters in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame did. With the help of Nick Fury (Kenan Thompson), Scarlett Johansson assumes the role of Black Widow once again and discovers that the villain behind this insidious plot isn’t Thanos this time.
Check out Scarlett Johansson’s Avengers: Endgame take-off below:
Scarlett Johansson will appear as Black Widow once more in an eponymous prequel set to release on May 1, 2020, set after Captain America: Civil War and leading up to the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. As it stands, Avengers: Endgame is the highest-grossing movie of all time when unadjusted for inflation, and it only makes sense that Scarlett Johansson’s return to SNL would make use of the movie’s premise as a sort of victory lap.
