Warning: The following post on Sebastian Stan contains major Avengers: Endgame spoilers!
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sebastian Stan revealed he was told they were filming a completely different ending for Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame concluded with nearly every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe converging for the funeral of Tony Stark, who sacrificed himself by using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos and his army. However, Marvel Studios’ efforts to keep key plot details a secret extended as far as hiding information from the cast even as scenes were being filmed and Sebastian Stan revealed he was told the funeral was actually a wedding for two characters:
“I was told there was a wedding. A wedding that we were filming, and I was like, ‘Who’s getting married?’ But everyone was dressed very formal and I was looking around and two people weren’t there so I guess that was the bride and the groom. But that’s what it was. It was a wedding. You saw the movie, right? It was a wedding.”
While Tony Stark’s story has come to an end, Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series currently titled Falcon and Winter Solider. Are you excited to see what the future holds for Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes? Let us know below!
