New concept art from Captain America: The Winter Soldier reveals an alternate look for Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes.

While most fans are excited to see Sebastian Stan star in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus, new concept art from Captain America: The Winter Soldier reveals Bucky Barnes nearly had a completely different mask as Hydra’s brainwashed assassin. It was recently confirmed that the Marvel Studios TV shows are all gearing up to resume production in Atlanta, including the show focusing on Bucky and Sam Wilson in the wake of Avengers: Endgame.

But a new design from the Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding, reveals a new face mask design that was considered for Sebastian Stan in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While the blacked out shades look similar to the design, the rest of the mask simply covers the star’s nose and mouth instead of the full lower half of his face. The suit itself also looks a little different, completely getting rid of the black leather look. It’ll be interesting to see Bucky’s final costume in the upcoming TV series, although we do have a good idea of what Sam Wilson’s Falcon suit will look like. Take a look at the unused design for Sebastian Stan below.
