Sebastian Stan’s Latest ‘The Falcon And Winter Soldier’ Photo May Reveal New Marvel Hero

Sebastian Stan has shared a picture from the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that may have just given us our first look at a new Marvel hero.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand soon with the release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is set to debut later this year on Disney Plus. Sebastian Stan’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the first original Marvel Cinematic Universe project to debut on the Disney-backed streaming service, seemingly planting the seeds for future shows like WandaVision and She-Hulk.

Beyond just taking the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the small screen, Sebastian Stan’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also be spearheading the expansion of the Captain America mythos. The plot as we know it will likely center on Anthony Mackie’s Falcon coming to terms with taking on the famed mantle of Captain America. With that in mind, it appears that Sebastian Stan may have revealed a Marvel character that seemingly ties into Captain America’s heritage.

Taking to Instagram, Sebastian Stan posted a picture of himself alongside fellow The Falcon and the Winter Soldiers stars Anthony Mackie and Wyatt Russell. Among them is actor Clé Bennett who has his jacket open, revealing his costume which is dark and has a star on its chest. All signs point to Bennett being Marvel’s Battlestar, a character rumored to appear in the series. You can take a look at Sebastian Stan’s photo from the set of the Marvel show below.

In the comics, Battlestar is best remembered as the fifth Bucky. The Marvel hero also has a history with U.S. Agent, who is played in the series by Wyatt Russell, seen above cowering in the cold. It wouldn’t be surprising if Battlestar were to permanently join Falcon’s side as he transitioned into becoming the next Captain America. This picture doesn’t confirm anything for the upcoming Marvel series, but it does point us in the right direction for speculation.

Do you think the character seen above is Battlestar? Are you excited to see Sebastian Stan return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let us know in the comments!

Here is the official synopsis for Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:
