Sebastian Stan Becomes The Riddler For Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ In New Image

Sebastian Stan suits up as The Riddler in a stunning new piece of fan art that imagines the Avengers: Endgame star as Edward Nygma for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

Best known for playing Bucky Barnes in the Captain America and Avengers movies, Sebastian Stan has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011. When asked what other comic book characters he’d like to play at Jus In Bello in Rome, Stan opted to go with the classic Batman villain Edward Nygma, a.k.a. The Riddler.

With The Riddler rumored to appear in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, William Gray took it upon himself to create an image that shows what Sebastian Stan could look like as the iconic character. You can see Sebastian Stan as The Riddler for the Robert Pattinson movie below.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the film as his current Batman while the film introduced a younger version of the Dark Knight, played by Robert Pattinson. But with Ben Affleck officially retired from the role, Robert Pattinson has officially replaced the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League actor as the DC Extended Universe’s Bruce Wayne.

While details are slim, The Batman director Matt Reeves has confirmed that the Robert Pattinson film is not based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will emphasize Batman as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. Filming is expected to begin early next year.

The DC Extended Universe continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, followed by Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

The Batman opens in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Sebastian Stan, Robert Pattinson and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
