This awesome new set video has revealed to us our first look at Keanu Reeves returning as Neo for the upcoming sequel, The Matrix 4.

It’s been over 20 years The Matrix hit theaters and helped turned Keanu Reeves and his character, Neo, into legends. Since then the careers of everyone involved in The Matrix films have seen highs and lows. Recently, thanks in no small part to the John Wick films, Keanu Reeves’ career has seen a bit of a renaissance and Warner Bros is clearly interested in cashing in on everyone’s renewed love for the Neo actor.

Last year, new information on the rumored sequel, The Matrix 4 began to emerge with casting details and release date announcements. While we don’t know a whole lot about The Matrix 4, we do know that Keanu Reeves’ Neo will be returning in some shape or form. Thanks to a new set video, we now have our first look at Keanu Reeves returning as Neo in The Matrix 4:

The Matrix and its two sequels collectively earned a total of $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss portrayed Neo and Trinity, respectively, in all three chapters of the Matrix film series, each of which were directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski.

Directed by Lana Wachowski from a script she co-wrote with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchel, The Matrix 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Eréndira Ibarra, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick. Production on Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix 4 is reportedly eyeing an early 2020 start date with Lana Wachowski also serving as a producer alongside Grant Hill.

The Matrix 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 21, 2021.
