Marvel’s upcoming film Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is set to resume production at the end of July.

When the coronavirus began to spread outside of China, Hollywood was effectively forced to shut down in order to ensure the safety of the casts and crews of film and television productions. Marvel’s Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings was, of course, one of those films and even director Destin Daniel Cretton had himself tested and self-isolated in order to protect his newborn child even though his test results came up negative. But now production for the film will resume at the end of July in Australia.

The upcoming Marvel film will reportedly resume production at Sydney, Australia’s Fox Studio. Marvel is taking careful steps in order to resume production on Shang-Chi. Crew members arriving from outside of Australia will have to be placed in quarantine per the country’s guidance but then will be able to get back to work on the upcoming film.

What do you all make of this news? Are you glad to hear that Shang-Chi will be resuming production soon? Would you rather Marvel had waited until the pandemic cleared up? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Introduced in Special Marvel Edition #15 in December 1973, Shang-Chi is a skilled martial artist who was raised in an isolated compound located in China and trained by his father Fu Manchu, a Chinese crimelord and immortal sorcerer who repeatedly attempted to conquer the world. When Shang-Chi was finally allowed to venture into the outside world to do his father’s bidding, he learned about his father’s evil ways and faked his own death before embarking on a mission to take down Fu Manchu’s criminal empire.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, and Ronny Chieng.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2021.
