Shazam! Fury of the Gods wrapped filming in August 2021 and was originally set to hit theaters this Christmas before being delayed to 2023 alongside The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Earlier this month, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Walter Hamada is being replaced by James Gunn and Peter Safran, with the duo overseeing DC’s film, television and animation efforts under a new banner known as DC Studios. Gunn and Safran start their jobs today.
