Marvel’s Deadpool 3 has added a new screenwriter to its creative team. According to Deadline, Zeb Wells has been brought on board to co-write the Deadpool 3 script alongside Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Wernick and Reese previously wrote the first two Deadpool movies for 20th Century Fox while Wells is known for his work on various Marvel Comics titles.

Zeb Wells is a well-known Marvel Comics writer with an impressive portfolio that includes titles such as Amazing Spider-Man and New Mutants. He has also made a name for himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having written the seventh episode of the Disney Plus series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. In addition, Wells co-wrote The Marvels, the sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel.

Deadpool 3 once again features Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth, with Hugh Jackman co-starring as Wolverine. The two characters have a long history in the comics, but the two haven’t shared the big screen since 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The first two Deadpool movies were produced by 20th Century Fox before the studio’s acquisition by The Walt Disney Company. Deadpool 3 is being written as the first movie in the series set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.

Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
