Sol Rodriguez and David Denman are officially joining the DC Universe! The two actors have been cast in the second season of Peacemaker starring John Cena, as reported by TheWrap.
News has been shockingly slow regarding Peacemaker, despite season 2 currently filming alongside other projects in the DC Universe like Superman. Fans only know that John Cena will return as the lead, alongside other key cast members such as Steve Agee, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, and Danielle Brooks.
However, it’s now been confirmed that Sol Rodriguez and David Denman will be joining the cast of Peacemaker season 2. Rodriguez, best known for her roles in the Nickelodeon show Grachi and films like Once Upon a Time in Venice, will be joining the long list of A.R.G.U.S. agents in the project as Sasha Bordeaux. Denman, who is best known for his work as Roy Anderson on The Office, has boarded the cast in an undisclosed role.
Who Is Sasha Bordeaux, Agent Of A.R.G.U.S.?
Sasha Bordeaux first debuted in the pages of Detective Comics #751 in the year 2000. This incarnation of the character is a bodyguard of Bruce Wayne, before later becoming the Black Queen of of the organization Checkmate, which is an offshoot organization of Task Force X created by Amanda Waller in coordination with Maxwell Lord.
Her more modern incarnation comes from the pages of Legends of the Dark Knight 100-Page Super Spectacular #1. The character is an A.R.G.U.S. agent who was captured by Godwatch, a criminal organization led by Veronica Cale to discover the island of Themyscira. Given Peacemaker season 2 already has a number of A.R.G.U.S. agents on the cast, this is more likely than not the version of the character Sol Rodriguez will play in the DC Universe, though it’s always possible she’ll be a combination of the two, especially since Sean Gunn is playing Maxwell Lord.
