Who’s the voice behind Knull? A new rumor has seemingly revealed the actor behind Venom: The Last Dance‘s surprising symbiote villain.
Fans were shocked when the recent trailer for Venom: The Last Dance revealed that Knull, God of Darkness and progenitor of the symbiote race, would be the film’s true villain. However, that brief confirmation didn’t leave fans with much. On top of barely having a look at the iconic character, nobody even knew what actor would be playing him, leading to rampant speculation across the net.
While names from Norman Reedus to Rhys Ifans were thrown into the mix for Knull’s voice actor, the answer may be surprisingly great. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the symbiote villain will be voiced by none other than Andy Serkis in Venom: The Last Dance. The actor is best known for his iconic motion capture roles such as Caesar in The Planet of the Apes franchise and Gollum in The Lord of The Rings. However, he actually served as director for the second Venom film, giving him close ties to the franchise and character.
Andy Serkis’ Future As Knull, God Of The Abyss
Given Venom: The Last Dance is a Sony Pictures production, fans understandably assume that Andy Serkis’ involvement as Knull will be in a throwaway post-credits scene that will amount to nothing if the film flops. However, it seems there are solid plans in place for the future of the symbiote god, with Richtman confirming the actor will return to voice the villain in future projects.
This rumor aligns with early reports that Spider-Man 4 will adapt a version of the King in Black storyline. If Venom: The Last Dance is only around to establish Andy Serkis as Knull, it’s likely baked into his contract that he would return to voice the villain in whatever they plan to do with the character next. Though given how much Sony has changed course in recent years, nothing is truly ever certain when it comes to the studio’s plans.
Venom: The Last Dance opens in theaters on October 25, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Venom series and makes sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
