Sony Delays ‘Kraven The Hunter’ & ‘Madame Web’; Announce New ‘Karate Kid’ Film

A mysterious Marvel film also got a new release date.

Sony announced some release date shifts that push back Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.

Sony is committed to building out a Marvel universe of their own with the Spider-Man characters they have the rights to. On Friday, the studio revealed some new release dates for those Spider-Man spin-off films and other news.

Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, was originally dated for January 2023, but has now been pushed to October 6, 2023. Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web will longer release next October and will now hit theaters on February 16, 2024.

Both Kraven and Madame Web films will screen in IMAX. Sony also dated an untitled Marvel movie for July 12, 2024, which was previously scheduled for June 7, 2024. That date could belong to Venom 3, which is confirmed to be in development.

What Else Did Sony Announce?

Sony also revealed that the upcoming Garfield film starring Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson will hit theaters May 24, 2024 over Memorial Day weekend. A new Karate Kid film is also on the way off the heels of Cobra Kai‘s success and is scheduled for June 7, 2024.

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach produced the project with Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing it for Sony.
