Sadie Sink has officially joined the MCU! The Stranger Things star has reportedly been cast in an undisclosed role in the upcoming Spider-Man 4.
Ever since Sadie Sink made her debut in Stranger Things, fans have been calling for her to hit the silver screen. Be it the MCU or the burgeoning DC Universe, there was clearly a demand for the actress to join some sort of big superhero franchise following her breakout role.
It seems those wishes have finally come true! A new report from Deadline reveals that Sadie Sink has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man 4 alongside Tom Holland. It was not disclosed which character she would be playing in the MCU, and both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have declined to comment on the matter.
Who Is Sadie Sink Playing In Spider-Man 4?
For a long time, fans believed that Sadie Sink would be playing Jean Grey in the MCU thanks to a rather persistent rumor regarding the X-Men reboot’s cast. Yet even with her landing a role in Spider-Man 4, some fans still believe that she could be playing the beloved Marvel Girl. Especially given the project is set to be a sort of soft reboot for the series, it’s possible that Peter Parker meets Jean Grey at some point in college.
However, others speculate that she may be playing Mary Jane. This may seem odd, especially as Zendaya already portrayed MJ in the MCU, and is reportedly set to return alongside Sadie Sink in Spider-Man 4. Though given Zendaya’s character was named “Michelle Jones-Watson”, it’s possible that “Mary Jane Watson” is her cousin, allowing both characters to exist in the MCU similar to DC’s situation with Wallace and Wally West.
