Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t completely throwing out the old guard! A rumor points to cast members from prior films making their return on set.

There’s a lot that’s exciting about Spider-Man: Brand New Day. A new director, a new tone, and enough reports from the rumor mill to make even the most seasoned reporter’s head spin. However, the one thing that fans are lamenting about the franchise’s new direction is that it seems some of the most beloved cast members from prior installments may be left on the cutting room floor.

While there are plenty of supporting characters that fans would love to see return, perhaps the two biggest that are likely to be absent from Spider-Man: Brand New Day are Zendaya’s Michelle Jones and Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds. The two were core members of the cast in prior films, taking up almost as much screen time as Tom Holland’s web-slinger. And given the events of the last film, fans are expecting to miss their presence in the upcoming film.

What Cast Members Will Return In Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

However, there may be some hope yet for those that yearn to see the trio reunite in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. A rumor from known scooper DanielRPK suggests that the production recently filmed a scene where Peter Parker meets back up with Ned Leeds and Michelle Jones. If true, this would confirm that both Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will return for the film, and potentially future installments in the new trilogy.

Though given the picture every other rumor is painting about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it doesn’t seem as though Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be major players in the film’s cast. Rather, their return will likely be akin to a minor cameo with them still not remembering who Peter Parker is. Though it’s possible that this rumored appearance sets up future installments to bring them back in a larger capacity.
