Some old faces are making their return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day! A set video reveals super villains won’t be the only obstacles Tom Holland has to contend with!
There’s a lot of questions still floating around the production of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, perhaps the most prevalent one is who will be the film’s main villain? While some major names from the MCU are joining Tom Holland in the project, including Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, there’s no sign of a true “big bad” for the film.
And while the project may still not have its primary villain, it seems as though there’s yet another obstacle added to the pile for Tom Holland’s web slinger. The latest set video for Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveals that the wallcrawler will be facing down the Department of Damage Control, now equipped with some rather powerful heavy machinery.
Spider-Man’s History With Damage Control
While some may say that Damage Control are a new villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland’s hero has actually been contending with them since the first film. The creation of the department by Tony Stark and the Federal Government is what spurred Adrian Toomes to take up the mantle of Vulture to keep his family afloat.
In more recent years, the Department of Damage Control has taken a more direct interest in metahuman affairs with their investigation into heroes such as Ms. Marvel. With Mayor Fisk now waging a war against vigilantes, it’s not shocking that Tom Holland’s beloved hero would be staring down their barrels in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
