The hidden threat teased in this synopsis is just that – hidden. The rumor mill has somehow entirely missed (or neglected to inform audiences) about who this mysterious threat is. Though given the context of the trailer and casting announcements for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, there are two people it can be: Sadie Sink’s character or that mysterious masked stranger.
There are endless theories about this masked stranger. However, given the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows someone getting mind-controlled, it’s more likely that the figure is tied to that force. Which, given the context of the rumor mill and the synopsis, suggests that Sadie Sink might end up playing Shathra after all, NOT Jean Grey.
