Spider-Man star Kirsten Dunst is ready and willing the return to the franchise as Mary Jane Watson.

Last year, Loki made its debut on Disney Plus and firmly established that there was, indeed, a Marvel Multiverse. The events of that show opened the door for many new possibilities which included allowing certain Marvel actors to return to their roles from previous film runs. The most famous, and thus far only, example of this was the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective versions of Spider-Man. They were also joined by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Jamie Fox among several others but they aren’t the only actors who wanted to return.

In the first three Spider-Man films, Peter Parker’s main love interest was Mary Jane Watson played by Kirsten Dunst. Like the rest of the original cast, she departed the role after original director Sam Raimi left the series. In the latest film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker was vague about just what became of the two but stated that they made it work. Following the success of the film, Kirsten Dunst has been vocal about wanting to return to the role.

In a recent interview with Backstage, Kirsten Dunst echoed the sentiments citing the fact that she has a house to pay for and kids to put through school:

“You know I’d join that multiverse! I feel like I’m the only one that hasn’t joined it. I’m like, ‘Please put me in. Put me in the lineup.’ I need to pay for my house and kids.”

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is playing in theaters and available digitally. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD versions will be available in stores on April 12.
