Two major post-credits scenes were attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home and here’s what they both might mean for the MCU moving forward.

Major spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home ahead!

The mid-credits scene for Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up where Venom: Let There Be Carnage left off with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in the MCU. Brock is situated at a Mexican bar trying to get caught up to speed with the MCU. Right after Brock mentions he’s interested in making a trip to New York City to meet up with Spider-Man, he is sent back to his universe.

While Brock and Venom are sent back, a piece of the symbiote remains in the MCU. This could obviously lead to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man donning the black suit down the line, or maybe the symbiote will find another host like Flash Thompson, who becomes Agent Venom in the comics.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene caught up with Doctor Strange in the first look at Sam Raimi’s Multiverse of Madness. In the footage, we get to see familiar faces like Wong, Karl Mordo, and Scarlet Witch. The trailer also gave us our first look at Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a young Avenger in the comics.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is first seen at the home she fled to after the events of WandaVision. Doctor Strange then asks Wanda for some help with the multiverse chaos that’s been unleashed. We also see her performing a spell in her comic book accurate suit that debuted in the Disney Plus series.

The trailer also shows Doctor Strange in a battle with the giant monster, Gargantos, not to be confused with the other tentacled creature, Shuma-Gorath from What If…? Although, the end of the first look features what appears to be an evil Doctor Strange, who might be the Sorcerer Supreme version we saw in the animated series.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
