Spider-Man: No Way Home is heading back to theaters with a host of new footage, including a brand new post-credits scene, details of which have now surfaced online.
When it first hit the big screen, Spider-Man: No Way Home only really featured one post-credits scene – featuring Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock during his brief visit to the MCU – with a trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness then being shown at the very end of the credits.
Instead of the Doctor Strange trailer, the re-release of No Way Home will feature a new scene involving Angourie Rice’s Betty Brant.
Peter Parker Forgotten In New No Way Home Scene
The new Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene reportedly deals with the effects of Doctor Strange’s memory-altering spell, erasing the memory of Peter Parker from the world.
According to Redditor u/KostisPat257, leaked scenes from Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed a new post-credits moment in which Betty Brant looks back on key moments from her cohort’s time in high school. The sequence features images of moments from previous movies, but Peter Parker is no longer present.
The Reddit post revealed:
“A new post-credits scene in place of the MoM trailer shows Betty doing her very last news segment right before graduation, showing pictures of the kids’ adventures throughout high school (Decathlon, Europe trip etc), but all of the pics are missing Peter Parker, indicating how the memory spell works.”
The new No Way Home scene obviously aims to clear up a few potential questions over how Peter Parker can be completely forgotten, confirming photographic and other evidence of his existence has also been erased.
Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.
