Is Spider-Man being left out of the party? The latest rumor reveals how the hero will play into both Avengers: Doomsday and the upcoming Secret Wars.
There’s a lot of questions about what the future holds for Spider-Man in the next few Avengers movie. It’s clear from the rumor mill that Marvel Studios and Sony have very different hopes for the character, leaving many to fear that the grounded direction of the hero’s new trilogy may lead to a diminished role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
However, there may be some hope yet for the webhead to have a prominent role in at least one of the films. James Mack, who is a currently unproven leaker picking up traction online, reveals that Spider-Man will appear in both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, he will only play a small role in the former, with him being the leading star of the latter.
Spider-Man’s Role In The Avengers Films
The idea of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being one of, if not THE main character of Secret Wars has been a prominent one in the rumor mill for years at this point. However, there is some disagreement about whether or not the hero is actually in Avengers: Doomsday, or if Marvel decided to let the hero sit out in order to not have to tango with Sony over his rights.
Given Spider-Man’s popularity, it would make sense to have him in both projects, with the much less crowded Secret Wars giving him more time to shine than Avengers: Doomsday. Though, perhaps more so than most reports to come from the rumor mill, fans should certainly take this with a massive grain of salt.
