New footage has been released from the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home that features the titular web-slinger wearing a costume from the comics that may take some fans by surprise.
There’s a lot of mystery surrounding Spider-Man: Far From Home other than that Tom Holland is back and his Peter Parker will be traveling abroad with his classmates whilst simultaneously battling Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), with characters like Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) also appearing in some capacity. The mystery surrounding the movie makes sense considering that the story picks up directly after the events of Avengers 4. That being said, the latest footage from the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home introduces a whole new series of questions from fans of the comics.
The set footage features Spidey swinging into the air carrying Michelle, played by Zendaya. Whether he’s saving her from danger or they’re just late to the bus is still a mystery but the fascinating thing here is the Spidey suit. The costume ditches the original blue color in the suit for more black, along with a new white spider logo. Check out the footage below to get a glimpse at the awesome new costume.

The costume may look familiar to some comic fans because it’s very similar to the spidey suit created by Peter Parker during the Superior Spider-Man run from Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman. During this time in the comics, it was Peter Parker’s body doing all the work but his mind had been swapped out for Doc Ock’s, making Doc Ock the new Spider-Man. Now, this could just be a visual nod because it’s a cool design but it could possibly be hinting at some mind control being introduced in the film, with Mysterio instead of Doc Ock.
That’s simply speculation though because considering Far From Home doesn’t hit theaters until two months after Avengers 4, it’s probably going to be quite some time before we get any sort of trailer or even more story details. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Spider-Man: Far From Home as soon as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on the new suit?
