New ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ Promo Hints At Peter Parker’s Death

Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse Peter Parker

In the latest promo for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a speech given by Mary Jane Watson hints at what may very well be Peter Parker’s death.

In this trailer, Mary Jane can be seen giving a speech to a crowd of people in Spider-Man masks. In it she seems rather remorseful as she addresses a crowd, calling everyone within it Spider-Man. It cuts to additional footage that has been seen in earlier trailers explaining the plot and the bad guy’s main plan.

If Mary Jane is, in fact, making a speech during some kind of memorial for Peter Parker it would be in keeping with Miles Morales’ origin story. The character was first introduced in the Ultimate Universe of Marvel Comics and took over the mantle of Spider-Man after the Ultimate version of the web-slinger was killed in a battle with the Green Goblin. His various books were written by Brian Michael Bendis until the writer left Marvel for DC.

What do you all make of this new trailer? Do you think Peter Parker’s days as Spider-Man in Into The Spider-Verse will be over before the end credits? Would you like to see this particular story play out? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, & Rodney Rothman from a script written by Phil Lord, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse features the voice talents of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, and Lily Tomlin.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind “The Lego Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on December 14, 2018.
