Spider-Man’s Suit In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Is ‘Too Crazy To Exist’

According to Tom Holland on 'The Graham Norton Show', Spider-man's suit in 'Avengers: Infinity War' is too fantastical to exist in real life.

According to Spider-man actor Tom Holland, the reason his suit in Avengers: Infinity War had to be digitally added was because it was too fantastical for real life.

With Peter receiving a new suit from Tony (Robert Downey Jr. ) at the end of Spider-man: Homecoming, fans have been eagerly awaiting for everyone’s favorite wall-crawler to dawn the suit. Finally, in Avengers: Infinity War, Peter is set to suit up in this new suit. However, since early set photos showed it off, fans have been wondering why it was digitally rendered. According to Holland during The Graham Norton Show, the suit isn’t real because it can’t be.

“Essentially, in this film, I have a new suit, which Tony Stark gave me, its an upgrade, and it’s too fantastical to exist in real life.”

While Holland first tried to have audiences believe that the motion captured suit was just for when almost everything in a scene was being rendered with visual effects, it seems as though his new suit will permanently be generated by computers. He goes on to describe what it was like walking in a motion capture suit while everyone else was on set in costume:

“Essentially I have to wear pajamas, I wear these pajamas with balls on them that light up. It’s super cool. It’s not. I’m on set with the Avengers who are wearing costumes that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, made by the best seamstresses you can imagine, and I’m there in a suit made by Marks and Spencer.”

When his costume was shown on the show, Holland couldn’t help but be surprised. While fans know him and many other actors were kept in the dark about Avengers: Infinity War, Holland claims that this was the first time he had ever even seen his costume:

“I just tell everyone. I just wasn’t allowed to read the script, I’d be on set and be working with actors and actresses that were just tennis balls for that day so I’d be texting people like ‘Hey, are you in this scene with Spider-Man?’ so I basically had to do a lot of background research to find out what I was doing.”

Are you excited to see Holland’s suit in action as much as the actor himself? What role do you think Spider-man is going to play in the story? Leave your answers down below!
