The cast of Spider-Noir just got a whole lot bigger! Sandman and Black Cat are just a few iconic villains who were just cast in the Spider-Man spin-off.
Fans just got a major news dump for the upcoming Spider-Noir series. From new images to details on why the character isn’t called Spider-Man, there’s frankly too much goodies to cover in one article. However, perhaps the most exciting part of this news dump from Esquire is official confirmation on what villains will appear in the series, and who’ll be playing them.
It has long-been rumored that Sandman will make his return to live-action in Spider-Noir. However, there has yet to be an actor attached to the role. According to the outlet, the iconic Spider-Man villain will be played by Ben-Hur and Boardwalk Empire star Jack Huston. He’ll also be joined by The Banshees of Inisherin alum Brendan Gleeson, who has been cast as Silvermane.
Who Is Playing Black Cat In Spider-Noir?
For anyone paying close attention to the rumor mill of Spider-Noir, the two roles cast above don’t come as much of a surprise. What did come as a surprise was the news that Black Cat would be making her live-action debut in the series, with Spider-Man’s Rogue turned love interest being played by Sinners star Li Jun Li.
“Really, she’s Rita Hayworth, who was so great in Gilda and Lady from Shanghai, and then a little bit of Lauren Bacall, because Bogey and Bacall go so well together,” Showrunner Oren Uziel says. “There’s some Kim Basinger from L.A. Confidential, in terms of how she fits into everything. She’s an amalgam of a lot of different things.”
Black Cat, Sandman and Silvermane are certainly an eclectic group of Spider-Man rogues to choose for a series like this. And with Lamorne Morris and Karen Rodriguez rounding out the cast as journalist Robbie Robertson and Ben Reilly’s secretary Janet respectively, it certainly seems as though Spider-Noir is going to take fans on a journey they’ve never seen before.
Spider-Noir is set to release on Amazon in 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the Spider-Man Noir series on Amazon Prime Video.
