The first trailer for Spider-Noir is here! The internet is abuzz at Nicolas Cage’s truly original take on the iconic hero known as Spider-Man.
When it was first announced, Spider-Noir sounded like a series destined to become a tax write-off. A show focused entirely on the Noir parody variant of Spider-Man already sounded far-fetched. However, add-in the fact that Nicolas Cage, one of the most eclectic movie stars in history, was playing the titular hero….some were truly counting the days until Sony pulled the plug.
But Sony never did pull the plug. And as production began, more and more information began to come out about Spider-Noir‘s strict adherence to its style. Then images began to come out showing Nicolas Cage’s costume as the beloved hero. And even though the version of Spider-Man in the show as going to be Ben Reilly and not Peter Parker, the project was looking surprisingly good.

Which brings us to today. The official teaser trailer for Spider-Noir has been released online, and it truly is a work of art. It’s a project that shows Nicolas Cage at his most Nicolas Cage (for better or for worse), and brings a truly unique take to the Spider-Man mythos. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s certainly plenty who will drink it.
In the world of streaming, with a project as expensive as Spider-Noir, and an actor as expensive as Nicolas Cage, this trailer is likely the last first look fans will get at the show. However, even if it is a one-and-done, it’ll go down in history as the first live-action Spider-Man series done by Hollywood. And given that, it certainly took the biggest swing it could.
