Stan Lee has told fans that a new character or group of characters will be introduced in Avengers: Infinity War and play a crucial part in the film.

Stan Lee has issued a statement suggesting that fans should expect to see some new faces as a part of Marvel’s biggest crossover ever, Avengers: Infinity War.

GameZone is reporting that Stan Lee told people at an Iowa press conference that fans should expect to see some new faces in Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel. Although he obviously couldn’t reveal who those characters were, there’s an incredibly large ensemble of nearly 30 characters at play with Infinity War and its untitled sequel, and that number has already grown considerably since the core cast of the film was announced last year.

There’s one thing that we know for sure, though – Adam Warlock isn’t among these potential new characters, as he will be sitting Avengers: Infinity War out in favor of being introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3. This seems kind of odd considering that Adam Warlock is commonly seen as the arch-nemesis to Thanos and had a crucial war to play in Jim Starlin’s trilogy of Infinity comics (which the movie is loosely based upon), but Marvel will almost certainly find a way to improvise.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018, and has a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany as the Vision, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautisa as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier), Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa (Black Panther), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Benicio Del Toro as Taneleer Tivan (Collector), and Josh Brolin as Thanos. An untitled sequel will be released on May 3, 2019, and features many of the same cast returning alongside new additions like Brie Larson as Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne (The Wasp).
