‘Star Wars’ Actor Andrew Jack Dies At Age 76 From Coronavirus

Star Wars actor Andrew Jack passed away age 76 from complications he developed from the coronavirus.

TMZ reports that Andrew Jack’s rep, Jill McCullough, has informed them that the Star Wars actor passed away on Tuesday morning at a hospital outside of London. Sadly, Andrew Jack’s wife was reportedly unable to be by his side at the time of his passing because she is currently in quarantine in Australia and the current conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic may not allow for a proper funeral.

Andrew Jack may be best known to the public for his role as General Ematt in the first two installments of Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars sequel trilogy. However, he was also a seasoned dialect coach for actors on a number of high profile projects, including the new Stars Wars films.

Most recently, Andrew Jack had been working as a dialect coach on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. Additional credits over his 30-year career include Avengers: Endgame, Sherlock Holmes, Alien v. Predator, Lord of the Rings, Die Another Day, Eastern Promises, Captain America, and Men in Black: International, just to name a few.

Andrew Jack most recently portrayed General Ematt in The Last Jedi. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
