Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star Daisy Ridley puts down the lightsaber and picks up a batarang as she becomes Batgirl in new fan art.
A Batgirl movie is one of the many DC projects in development over at Warner Bros. Marvel’s The Avengers and Justice League reshoots director Joss Whedon was originally attached to the project. Following Joss Whedon’s exit, Birds of Prey and Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson was then hired by the studio to pen the film.
The current state of the project is unknown, but fans have still speculated on who could play Batgirl. The character has been portrayed in live action before by Yvonne Craig, Dina Meyer, and Alicia Silverstone. Star Wars‘ Daisy Ridley has been a popular name floated around by fans recently. New fan art now shows us what Daisy Ridley could look like as Batgirl:

Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.
