Longtime Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen is willing to reprise the role of Darth Vader for his own Disney Plus series.

Hayden Christensen first appeared in the franchise as Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy’s second installment, Star Wars: Episode II-Attack of the Clones. Like many other aspects of the trilogy, however, his role as the young version of Darth Vader was criticized both for his performance and for the dialog written by series creator, George Lucas. Like the rest of the prequel trilogy though his performance enjoyed a delayed appreciation.

In late 2020, it was revealed that Hayden Christensen would be reprising the role of Darth Vader for the upcoming Star Wars mini-series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. This, however, will not be the actor’s final role as the character, and is set to return to the role for the upcoming Ahsoka series. However, Christensen is ready for Vader to have his own Disney Plus show.

In a recent interview The Hollywood Reporter, Hayden Christensen was asked if he would be willing to reprise the role for his own Disney Plus series. The Darth Vader actor responded with an immediate yes:

“Absolutely. To get to do more with this character would be amazing!”

Here is the synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi:

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.

The first four episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are on Disney Plus now, with new episodes airing every Wednesday.
