The remake of the acclaimed video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has already been delayed, and may take even longer than some hope.
Before Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, the state of the Star Wars franchise lived on through the release of George Lucas’ Prequel Trilogy, the animated series The Clone Wars, and numerous video games. One of those video games was Knights of the Old Republic, which became an instant favorite amongst fans, with many considering it to be one of, if not the best story told in the galaxy far, far away.
Last year, it was announced that a remake of KOTOR was in the works from Aspyr Media. However, Star Wars fans were given some unfortunate news recently – the remake has been delayed indefinitely, due to issues behind-the-scenes.
It’s going to be a while…
Fans hopeful that the remake of the 2003 game would come in just in time for the 20th anniversary next year are also out of luck. In fact, an it appears that 2024 may also be unlikely given the ambitions and scope of the remake:
