‘Star Wars’: New ‘The Mandalorian’ Set Photos Tease Return To Tatooine

Star Wars The Mandalorian George Lucas Jon Favreau Marvel Russo Bros AvengersMakingStarWars.net has unveiled new The Mandalorian set photos that hint at a return to Tatooine in the Star Wars series.

Production on The Mandalorian continues and the latest set photos reveal that the desert planet on which the titular character seems to visit is Tatooine. While the planet could have been the similar Jakku or Jeddah, the photos reveal that the Tatooine inhabitants known as the Jawa’s will appear on the series, seemingly confirming that the classic Star Wars planet will return.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Nick Nolte.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian will be written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the series and additional episodes will be helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones episode director Deborah Chow.

The Mandalorian will be available exclusively on Disney Plus.
